We are pleased to inform you that this year NEPC Summer school will take place at Bazaleti Lake, Georgia, 28th June – 2nd July 2010.
We are especially honored to host prominent experts in the field of education, such as professor Michael W. Apple from University of Wisconsin, Education Program Director Elmina Kazimzade from Center for Innovations in Education in Azerbaijan, professor Cathryn Magno from Southern Connecticut State University and professor Lystra Richardson from Southern Connecticut State University as our lecturers this year.
This year's Summer School theme is Emerging leaders for a new policy era: Educational leadership in transitioning societies and therefore it is principally concerned with topics related to the importance of school leadership in the context of education reforms in transition societies, such as shift from “management” to “leadership”, position of leaders as change agents of the future, maximizing local knowledge, democratization of education and effective decision-making.
Summer School primarily aims to attract those participants that are directly involved in the process of policy-making in education or direct participants in implementation and decision making in education leadership. Hence, in the call for application for the Summer School
2010 we strongly encourage school principals / leaders, policy makers and implementers at national/regional level and graduate students in education policy or educational leadership/management studies to apply.
